Project for a detached house in Llorà, Girona, Catalunya.
The plot presents a downward slope from the street, terraced in diferent levels that organize the topograhy of the land. The upper terrace, will be used to place the house, in orde to benefit of the best views over the valley, while the rest of the terraces will be free of construction.
The house is organized in three strips, with a single storey: a central strip hosting the kitchen, living and dining rooms, will be flanked by the side strips hosting the bedrooms and bathrooms of the couple and their future family.
The volume of the house consists in a single gabled roof, rotated 90º, with the aim of adapting the volume to the landscape. The single storey is divided in two levels who follow the slight slope of the existing terrace.
Heavily insulated, and with an aerothermal system for heating, cooling and hot water production, the house approaches passive standards, whith a highly reduced energy consumption ratio. The compactness of the volume, a single rectangle, allows a significant reduction of facade surface, thereby maximising the efficiency of the building.
